Thinking about Cognitive Flexibility

In fact, I mean cognitive flexibility theory. It is a theory about how the mind manages the learning process. And it is important, because it challenges some of our most dear old fashioned ideas about learning. Here is an introduction.

The key idea for me is that you cannot take knowledge out of context and expect people to figure it out. Instead — as learners — we build context and knowledge as we understand how to apply what we learn.
